A basic introduction to kiwifruit
Kiwi fruit is the fruit of Actinidia arguta, a plant of the Actinidiaceae family. Many people think it is a specialty of New Zealand. In fact, its ancestral home is China. Originally named 狝 monkey fruit, it was introduced to New Zealand a century ago. Kiwifruit is usually oval-shaped. Its dark brown and hairy skin is generally not edible, while inside it lies bright green flesh and a row of black seeds. Kiwi fruit has a soft texture and its taste is sometimes described as a blend of strawberry, banana and pineapple. Because macaques like to eat it, it is called kiwi fruit. There is also a saying that it got its name because its skin is covered with hair, resembling a macaque.
The benefits and functions of kiwi fruit
Lower cholesterol
Eating its outer skin is the best choice. One third of the fiber in kiwifruit is pectin, especially in the part where the skin and flesh come into contact. Pectin can lower the concentration of cholesterol in the blood and prevent cardiovascular diseases.
2. Promote digestion
The dietary fiber it contains can not only lower cholesterol, but also aid digestion, prevent constipation and remove harmful metabolic products from the body.
3. Lower blood lipid
Inhibiting the deposition of cholesterol on the inner walls of arteries can prevent arteriosclerosis, improve myocardial function and prevent heart disease, etc.
4. Anti-cancer and tumor suppression
Eating barbecued food frequently can increase the incidence of cancer because after being consumed, it undergoes nitrification reactions in the body, generating carcinogens. The vitamin C rich in kiwifruit, as an antioxidant, can effectively inhibit this nitrification reaction and prevent the occurrence of cancer.
5. Enhance physical fitness
Kiwi fruit is also a tonic and strengthening food. The nutrients in it can significantly enhance the body’s activity, promote metabolism, coordinate body functions, block carcinogens, strengthen the body and delay aging.
The nutritional value of kiwifruit
Kiwi fruit is rich in carbohydrates, vitamins and trace elements. Especially, the content of vitamin C, vitamin A and folic acid is relatively high. The content of vitamin C is about ten times that of apples. It is hailed as the “King of Vitamin C”.
2. The skin of kiwifruit is rich in pectin.
3. Kiwi fruit is a low-fat and low-calorie fruit, and it is also rich in folic acid, dietary fiber, and is low in sodium and high in potassium.
Kiwi fruit contains a variety of amino acids. Amino acids like glutamic acid and arginine can act as neurotransmitters in the brain and promote the secretion of growth hormone.
5. The black granular parts in the flesh are rich in vitamin E.
Among the top 26 most consumed fruits in the world, kiwifruit is the most abundant and comprehensive. Kiwi fruit has the highest content of Vc, Mg and trace elements. Kiwi fruit ranks first because it is heavier than bananas and citrus fruits in potassium.
Kiwi powder is a powder-like food additive made from fresh kiwi fruit through processes such as spray drying. Its core processes include raw material cleaning, pulping, concentration, spray drying and other steps, ultimately obtaining a light green powder with a fineness of 80 mesh and full water solubility. From a technical perspective, a 6:1 concentration ratio means that every 6 kilograms of fresh fruit can be made into 1 kilogram of powder, retaining the rich vitamin C (with a content of 200-400mg/100g), dietary fiber and antioxidant substances in kiwifruit.
Our kiwi powder is made by spray-drying fresh fruits, 80-mesh fully water-soluble powder, food-grade standard, with a shelf life of two years. Welcome to contact us for more information.
